My ancestors, They fought for something. The femme who marched the earth to endure trials hoping one day this generation wouldn't have to. The femme who sat in silence for survival. The femme who waited in fear. The femme who died for their beliefs, Who bled. Here I am bleeding outwardly, openly, willingly. Also silently living with it every day. I feel a slight disconnect with the past while simultaneously being tethered to it. What is the foundation of myself if not the past? Inherited are my instincts and my flaws. Inherited is the burden of a femme existence. But with it comes a power to recognize and master. Knowledge is a gift and so is interconnection. We can achieve it.
