Final Hope

For the first time again, does the light shine on me. For the second time again, did I not catch it. For the third time again, will I keep going. For the last time again, do I see the next light.

"Final Hope" is meant to communicate a hopeless optimism. A teetering feeling that this journey will either end with you dying or you getting what you wanted. While making this piece I was thinking about how I grew up in a trailer inside of a small town where there wasn't even any trash pick-up service. Real poverty and isolation. This piece conveys that sense of not giving up no matter how many times you have to bang your head against the wall. There's always opportunity, but sometimes your eyes don't process that what you're looking at is a beautiful thing that could lift you from what you want to get away from.
