As lines electrify they encounter a reaction.
For me, abstraction is not about form, colour or balance to achieve an aesthetic view primarily. It is just a means to an end, a backdrop to animated forms that carry an implied function. In this work, Field test - meltdown, form gives way to the utility of lines electrifying a scene to cause a meltdown: of colour and the subject matter, the incident – a somewhat disastrous yet scenic occurrence. My work looks at different aspects of creation - making art, and destruction - destroying art. Then there is the aftermath - the end result - which can portray different moments in time. Does this represent the demise of this world, the rise of the machine, humanity's failure to learn or something else? Most of my work is expressed like a flow of consciousness through the digital and analogue mediums I use rather than anything preset and predefined in my mind.
