My tribute series to the original 'dumb' aesthetic collage approach of Vaporwave is presented here for you. I've been a part of that internet music genre scene since 2016, own a 'Sadplanet' telegram room that I run and also the first ever VR 'Virtual Plaza' plot via CryptoVoxels. The aesthetics of Vaporwave have never been truly examined by the art world at large but hopefully soon will. The music I believe is actually the augmentation of the genre and in fact, the art is the most crucial and inventive part of the scene itself. Many theories of the genre have surfaced, some say it's commentary on over-consumerism, others say it is a nostalgic reimagining of the 90s computer age/dotcom boom, all are correct in my eyes. One only needs to type 'Vaporwave Philosophy' on a search engine and you will fall into the rabbit hole as I did.
This piece F A N ₿ O I S is dedicated to two things, the over-maximalist fanboy tendencies of Bitcoiners as I've seen time and time again by their overzealous and quite emotional responses to any objection to their cause and also a dedication to Vaporwave's original and quite internet punk aesthetic. Very simple yet provoking imagery of the past glory days of computing all stuck in what appears to be a windows computer screen turned art canvas.
