Everything I wanted

I wanted it badly enough to make excuses, to let things go one by one without thinking too much about it. I told myself it was necessary, that this is what desire asks of you. But standing here now, with everything finally in my hands, I can’t help but wonder if what I gained was worth everything I had to leave behind.
