Eventide (2004)

This was a pure modeling exercise for me. The ocean features prominently in my work and I wanted to try my hand at creating a boat from scratch using Lightwave.

I will admit, it's a fairly simple scene. Polygon modeling in Lightwave was always a pain to me (though working in Blender today is a joy). I did learn a great deal about UV mapping and rope dynamics.

It's simple but, for whatever reason, this piece has really resonated with my fans over the years and many fans have told me this is their favorite out of all my renders.
