The Basque independence group ETA founded in 1959 is against the Franco regime, the organization will act mainly in Spain and will have contacts all over the world and mainly in France.
At the beginning, the group mainly affected former Francquist actors and police structures of the Guardia Civile.
The pro-military group resulting from the internal split between the latter and the ETA group, mixing political and armed struggle, will continue its atrocities despite the latter's dissolution with a series of bombings and assassinations.
They will be considered as a terrorist group and will suffer heavy repression from the Spanish justice system, any group associated with ETA is dismantled or attacked in court, Radio, cultural organization, political party are dissolved under the guise of association at ETA.
The group will announce in 2017 its total disarmament, they will designate the arms caches present in France, the authorities will identify more than 3.5 tons of weapons and explosives.
