ENTER THE SPIDER LORD

Inspired by a mythical creature that tormented the digital artist community at the very first Camp Mograph in Vermont 2019, the Spider Lord earned its right to be immortalized. This diabolical creature was made from scratch, all the way from the rigging, hair dynamics, and animation. It serves as a constant reminder of the monster that haunted all of our dreams on that cold retreat in the distant north, where it still resides today.

Artist's Note: This piece was an exploration into some of our more innate, instinctual fears. In everything I've created so far, nothing creates a more visceral and physical reaction in viewers than being at eye level with the horrible SPIDER LORD. This character I created from scratch, modeled, textured, rigged, hair'd up, and animated. Development of this piece was a very important growth step in my technical skillset as a digital artist, opening limitless possibilities with this medium I'm absolutely enamored with.
