This piece is an homage to my childhood in the 1990s. In particular, the liquid metal aesthetic of early CGI renderings, which seemed to permeate all manner of media, from rave flyers to TV commercials. We were also seeing the first glimmers of VR technology, still practically vapourware, having a trickle-down effect on the collective consciousness. "Cyberspace" was a popular buzzword and many proponents seemed to be envisioning a digital utopia that was just around the corner. I wanted to create a piece that embodied all those feelings of nostalgia, but also the boundless optimism of the time. To reflect on the past, whilst envisioning the future.
