Embrace Thy Self by Aaron Varshay

‘Embrace Thy Self’ is greater than an art piece for me, it was an effort to use art as a conduit for my own growth. An exercise in trusting my own creative process, instincts, and journey in life.

In every element creating this I tried to practice and embody the self love and trust I was seeking for myself. Letting myself create as much chaos and detail as I wanted, mixing color and style, adding type and designs, writing out my own thoughts and ideas, and welcoming in all elements of myself. Letting go of inhibitions, and trusting the person I am right now to be at the forefront. Every messy part of myself was welcomed out to play with the other parts.

It sure as hell didn’t transform me into a new person, BUT I sure as hell got closer to the love and trust I’m looking for. Embracing my imperfections and trusting myself will be a lifelong journey with ups and downs, not a fire and forget idea that sits in my brain. I know now that I don’t want to be perfect, in fact I VOW NEVER TO BE PERFECT! There’s a deep solace in that idea for me that’ll carry me to the next phase.

Anyway, this is a digital art piece I built with my favorite pixel pusher, Photoshop, glitch software, and my brain. Yada yada, good luck on your own journey, and enjoy the art!
