This is the second piece in a series that explores using simple shapes and color palettes to convey a moment of elemental coming-together. This scene of rich red and maroon colors reminds me of a sensationalized view of molten-hot bubbles rising from a deep sea, where perhaps out of view, a violent reaction of magmatic volcanic earth is being seared by the
All of my art is created in a generative art program that I built in the programming language, Processing. Designs come together through a mixture of computed randomized values, variable values controlled via the keyboard, and "painted" onto the digital canvas by hand using a Wacom tablet or mouse. There's no 'undo' button either, so each piece has embedded in it the tension of trying to bring together a composition that is more than a smattering of pixels, but also a surrendering to the chaos that yields a piece that is not completely human-made. Every individual piece I create can never be recreated in exactly the same way ever again.
The original file is 17,600 × 9,900 pixels at 72DPI, allowing it to be used for personal large-scale digital and print applications.
All pieces in this series will be exclusive to the makersplace platform. The original file will never be shared in any other way on any other platform.
