"The Apples of Eden"
In Eden there were apples bright, Not mere fruits, but pure delight, Apples from that sacred ground, With long branches, reaching round, Necks like leviathans so grand.
Each morning, sunshine’s golden ray Reflected red, a bold display From the leviathan’s deep gaze, While the serpent slyly sways, Whispering of those apples' praise.
I didn’t want to heed the call, Yet apples murmured through it all, As the serpent danced and coiled, Seduction's grip, my will was spoiled. Between the tree, my silence grew, A tempting truth I never knew.
In Eden there were apples sweet, In Eden lay all things complete, Those apples held a meaning vast, Yet tasting them, I lost at last.
