We've all heard of fractals; repeating patterns resulting from underlying mathematics, often expressed in beautiful ways in the natural world. Tree branches, spiral shells, cloud formations, they're all examples of physical forms emerging from simple (or complex) equations underneath. But what if real-world objects aren't the only thing that adhere to fractal laws? What if events and time itself are subject to repeating patterns as well? Coincidences, déjà vu, and intuition... They could all be expressions of fractal patterns stretched out over space and time. The phrase "history repeats itself" would take on a whole new meaning, with actual events emerging from the mathematical froth as reliably as fern fronds growing from seeds. If events can be described by fractal equations, then... Can we as well?
