digital dominion

this piece started as a photograph taken in my studio, which was then passed through several steps of digital production . these steps comprised multiple passes of graphic and video processing, repeatedly selecting single video stills, and again producing animated video from the selected/edited still . this repeated process eventually generated two final sequences that were split into the single frame you see here . prose was then written specifically for this video and added as a subtitle track . a final round of video processing was then applied to the work . following lockdown last year i decided to produce works that were themselves a reflection of creative process, so that i might be able to present the process itself as a body of work . that body of work will eventually be released as 'a book about nothing', a project initiated last year (2020) during an enforced lockdown abroad | 'digital dominion' 2021 | Brendan Conrad Forde | @acid_very | you are here - upon digital dominion - turned toward a cyan sun - facing contemplations - across binary plains - holding true - to illusory enlightenment - ancient beyond memory or record
