Desert Haunting

This tree reminded me of scraggly old forests you see in England. However, this scraggly and rather stubby tree was jagged due to years of being beaten by relentless desert conditions.

I only saw this tree by chance. Driving to another location, I kept noticing the dynamic clouds all around me. I was met with the decision to continue to the location I had in mind or pull over to find a composition and do some storm chasing. After playing with some other compositions I crossed the highway and found this tree with wild clouds behind it. I felt the low perspective gave the tree more power and a black and white image had much more mystery.
