An artistic protest against crippling government control over childhood. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Dutch Forgotten Child Foundation @HetVergetenKind who are fighting against the practice of locking children up in isolated "secure units" in The Netherlands.
This edition forms part of a digital collage series based on Dutch Renaissance art. Exuding hope that the new renaissance unleashed in the digital realm today may help children regain their voices.
The project is inspired by the burning issue of thousands of children being taken away from their parents in The Netherlands, many of them put away in locked facilities. At the same time, it's devoted to all oppressed and unheard kids, anywhere.
This is a very personal project since my own children were born in Amsterdam. We had to leave The Netherlands as a family because of the country’s zero tolerance towards unschooling and self-directed fulfillment.
