Daphne by archetipical

"Daphne is running, chased by the God Apollo who burns with desire for her. She can't refuse a God, not even run away from him: the only way to escape him is metamorphosis. So she invokes the help of her father, who transforms her into a laurel plant before the god reaches her. Now Apollo can no longer have her, but only a bunch of fragrant leaves remain of the girl Daphne."
