Dance with the dragons

Combination of multiple drawings, own photos, digital collage pieces and final digital composition and work.

This piece symbolizes the journey of understanding of one's own powers and aspects of being that may be hidden. Dragons can be frightening, wild and destructive, just like the parts of ourselves that we do not know or are afraid to encounter. But allowing oneself to peel the layers, to look deep inside and to face the uncomfortable transforms the inner dragon into a friend and a power we can draw from. The piece is built from drawings, photos, diaries from my martial art practice and art fragments from different periods of time when I was going through inner processes of understanding difficult aspects of myself. In a way it encapsulates the processing of these processes themselves.
