There are some cases where it’s advisable to get rid of some nodes that are now being used to compute and verify a blockchain. The reason being that now that more nodes are being added to a blockchain, there is a possibility that they may compromise the network integrity.
For example, if there is one single node that is compromised, it can single-handedly compromise the entire blockchain.
Here are some common reasons that may cause a node to be deleted:
– Any node that is used to commit high-value transactions or blocks that create double spends or more than 50 valid signatures.
– Any node that is being used to compromise the security of the network.
– Any node that is owned by a botnet.
– Any node that has become non-responsive and is not in the right state for the safety of the network.
Just remember that you should have some reason to delete your node. The reason being that you want to retain your privacy while mining, which is the main purpose of a node.
