Curiosity Kills the Green Turtle

Unlike some other kinds of waste, plastic doesn't decompose. That means the plastic can stick around indefinitely wreaking havoc on marine ecosystems.

As the plastic is tossed around, much of it breaks into tiny pieces, called microplastics.

Endangered wildlife like Hawaiian Monk Seals and Green Turtles are among nearly 700 species that eat and get caught in plastic litter.

So from now on avoid buying single-use plastic whenever possible. Fill a reusable bottle instead of buying bottled water and use your reusable bag and containers when shopping, traveling, or packing lunches.
