The third in the series of 'genesis' artworks of my recent abstract digital work. My visual language of grids, circles and crosses originated in drawing, landscape and written glyphs and was developed some 35 years ago.
The 'X' has alway been a feature of my work, Ctrl-X gets its title from the copy-paste shortcuts that are commonplace and automatic in nearly all software applications. 30 or so years ago these shortcuts and what have become almost automatic actions didnt exist. I see them as mirroring painting, where a physical movement leaves a visual trace -- except in the digital world you get multiple 'undos'.
