Although it has been said many times that the cry for independence was not actually made on this date, we Mexicans celebrate on the 15th and 16th of this month, which at dawn on September 16, 1810, Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla inspired the people to take up arms against the injustices of the Spanish and the viceroyalty. This started the war of independence that years later, gave us sovereignty, as well as freedom for the country.
