I created this after looking at many photos I took of sunsets to northern lights, while in the Subarctic of N.W.Ontario. I photocopied many and the began to make a collage from cutting strips of the enlarged photocopy papers into varied widths. Then I had something fascinating happening, so I glued the best strips onto paper. Then with spontaneity, I begin adding watercolours in different areas, then using pastels, thus creating more textures. I already had the patterns across, some having more depth and height. By utilizing a wider range of colours in my palette, it produced more variety. That was the preparation part. Then I scanned it into my computer and began then the adobe art tools, manipulating to enhancing. After awhile I brightened, darkened here and there, then used textural and flat bold colour choices. It looked more like images from out in the Universe. The last part was to have a good balanced composition, with individual colours used all around. This effect also with more depth thus helped create one whole artwork image, with alternating rhythm of bands across being most colourful. I really had fun producing, It's one of my longer processes, using photography, collage, mix media and hi-tech tools, unexpectedly became a dynamic cosmic artwork, much larger than what I began to work with. Great!
