Queen of the cities. Capital of the eastern roman empire. All times and events occuring simultaneously.
Hagia Sophia (the head) at the centertop in a continuous transition between church and mosque. Constantine, St Helen, Justinian, Theodora, and Belisarius floating over it. The Golden Horn crossed by chains and the Galata tower at its right arm. The circus maximus, the port, and the byzantine naval fleet at its left arm. The defense of the city at the center. A column of crusaders and a column of ottoman troops preparing to invade the city at its legs.
... and some byzantine discussions like the sex of angels or the iconoclasm quarrels spread throughout.
Graphite and digital color Part of a series of anthropomorphic cities.
