Consider the Moon

"How do you eat an elephant?" "One bite at a time."

I had two inspirations for this image; that metaphor, which I had heard someone say the day before and it got caught up in my head, and a desire to paint stars and planets and capture the beauty of space.

Figuring out what I wanted to model and draw, I did a lot of sketches, and I wanted to do too much. I like to really hone in on one idea or one subject, but I was getting caught up in the enormity of possibilities that is "draw a picture of outer space". So I took a bite of the enormous universe - and captured it as my focus. The metaphor became the process, and the process became the meaning. The moon, for your consideration.
