A physical piece, Acrylic on canvas(2026)
A figure sits at the center with no face, only a small red mouth. Around it, eyes appear everywhere else: in rings, in sockets, in objects that seem to look back. Looking has left the head and settled in the room.
Quiet connections run through the painting: a form like a plug moving toward its socket, a drip meeting a dark line, rows of pins on an unfinished surface. They are kept at the threshold of notice, much like the channels through which our attention and memory now arrive.
The lower right remains graphite underdrawing, a layer not yet become image. A consciousness still being drawn, wired, and filled in from elsewhere.
What remains of the self when its surface behaves like a screen waiting to be filled?
