I wish I were like autumn, I wish I were like the silent and melancholic autumn, The leaves of my desires would turn yellow one by one, The sun in my eyes would grow cold, The sky in my chest would be full of pain, Suddenly, a storm of sorrow would claw at my soul, My tears, like rain, Would stain my skirt. Oh, how beautiful it would be if I were autumn, Wild, passionate, and full of color.
P.S. The poem is by the renowned Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad.
