Clockwork (2011)

I've created over 1000 different renders over the years but certain themes I come back to again and again. Mandalas have always fascinated me and I created quite a few when I was learning to model.

My early mandalas (such as "Colorwheel", "Circular Logic", and "Axiomatic) were mostly orthographic and lacked depth. For this piece I wanted to create something that was a "3D" as possible while still being recognizable as a mandala.

Created and rendered using Lightwave 3D in 2011, "Clockwork" is easily my favorite pure abstract render out of all the hundreds I've done over the years.
