Claudia Objects

The Dollsbox.03 (2021) is one of three animated music boxes. A “dolls box” consists of a unique 3d model of a dress worn by the Margaret Theresa of Spain (1551-73) of Spain, inspired by gowns worn in a portrait painted by the painter Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez (baptized June 6, 1599 – August 6, 1660). Gowns and boxes are surfaced with animated patterns that are made from motifs derived from the heraldry of collapsed empires mixed with contemporary corporate logos.
