Nestled between Barcelona's grid-like Eixample disctrict is a centuries old stand-off between world-renowned architect Antoni Gaudi's Sagrada Familia and his master Lluís Domènech i Montaner's Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.

Like bookends of the Catalan Modernisme movement these two buildings face each other across the city as would a proud student showing off his work to their teacher.
