This set of gifs experiment with limited animation, which is a group of techniques developed and popularized by TV animation studios in the 50s and 60s to make animation from as few drawings as possible. A popular limited animation technique is to only animate part of the image while the other part stays still. The drawing of the crocodile with its mouth closed stays still while drawings of its open-mouthed head get stacked on top. The gif was made in a sketchbook, then scanned and colored digitally. Made by Ingo Raschka in 2019.
