Edinburgh Castle was built on top of lava rock. For 1100 yrs or more there has been a human presence on the rock mass.
This image is a pano made up of 20 images handheld. When combined the aspect ratio became 15728x7215. This image took close to 3 years to complete. In 2015 I traveled to Scotland to photography this castle. It turned into an abstention. Disappointed with the first render I returned again in 2016. Spent months editing this second set of images. I was still not happy with the results. But it was a lot better than the first set. My process was improving. There is always a good reach to go back to Scotland. So I planned and waited. 2017 3 times a charm right. Edinburgh landed. I went to work, taking only 40 images. Took about 5 months and the image came out perfect. Included with the image is a 28x60 custom frame with museum class and the wood on the frame resembles castle doors. I couldn't just make the image and not print it and frame it :-).
