Cādūceus

The caduceus; Latin: cādūceus, from Greek: κηρύκειον kērū́keion "herald's wand" is the staff carried by Hermes in Greek mythology.

Legend states that Hermes discovered two snakes fighting and thrust his rod between them. The snakes stopped fighting and wound themselves around the rod. Thus, this combination became a symbol of unity and the cessation of discord.
