As a gestural response to Carlos Castaneda's description of an early morning peyote trip in "The Teachings of Don Juan", "Bravo '98" is a meditation on the psychological aesthetics of North American desert landscapes. Sampling footage from an educational film about the Rio Bravo and Big Bend National Park, elements of the sparse (yet, baroque) environment are superimposed to create a languid synthesis of hot dry land and cool flowing waters.
