Book for Mountain by Tommy Chandra

A collaboration of Heimlo (my studio) with Book For Mountain. Celebrating Indonesia's 76th Independence Day, 76% of the. NFT purchasing will be donated for BFM. For 11 years, Book For Mountain has built or revitalized more than 40 children's libraries in remote communities in Indonesia. During that reflective period, we also learned that Indonesia is very diverse, but the education system and reading books are very uniform and identical all over Indonesia. Children and youth in rural areas are bombarded with the urban-centric information that is distant and unfamiliar to their daily lives. As a result, education that should solve life's problems is useless and impractical.

Since 2017, Book For Mountain has taken the initiative in developing contextual children's story books that are relevant to the needs of children and youth in rural areas of Indonesia. Hopefully, children could understand their surroundings, be educated, be critical, and be able to innovate.
