Blue Rose

The blue rose is a legendary and mysterious flower that does not exist naturally in nature, as the rose lacks the gene necessary to produce the blue color. This flower symbolizes the unattainable, mystery, impossible desires and endless love. In 2004, Japanese scientists at Suntory created the first true blue rose, called “Applause,” by genetically engineering and adding a gene from a violet.
