I had a dream last night. I was a flock of birds, a multitude of beings. The naked tree branches shook when we flapped our wings in syncope and jumped into the air. Our silhouettes on a dark blue sky. Shades melting into the dropping veil of night. Or was I looking at birds? I don’t remember. Memories slip from my mind, leaving static. It’s a strange feeling. I feel myself present and also distant, disconnected. Here, not there. I had a dream last night—I don’t remember much. You were flowers blooming on a tree, and when the wind blew, petals flew in a waving motion. The colors were different, bright blue and shades of red. That’s how I imagine you. In the mornings, descending from the void, I come home because of you, drained by visions, the ever-calling void of dreams. My lighthouse.
