Broadcast media may feel like a something we passively consume. However, as this clip from a 1962 documentary about the first satellite communications clearly demonstrates, nothing could be further from the truth. What we consume has always been monitored, then modified according to our responses and the insatiable appetite of "the monster". What are you consuming?
