Begging

The man continues to plead with the gods, hoping that they will hear him and come to his aid. His son, amazed by the solemnity of the scene, looks at his father with admiration and listens carefully to his prayers. He witnesses his father's determination and his faith in the Egyptian gods, and this may mark him for the rest of his life.
