Ooof, this is going to stir some heads; good. On the news, we often see scenes of law enforcement officers violently arresting and/or beating unarmed African-American men and taking them into custody or in the case of George Floyd, cold-bloodedly murdered in broad daylight in Minneapolis, MN; they are vilified in the media as the "BAD GUY". Now conversely, when there is a mass shooting from someone of shall we say of the Caucasian persuasion, (someone who we will not name here because he doesn't deserve anything but a jail cell for the rest of his life) was labeled by Cherokee County Sheriff’s spokesman Jay Baker as having a "BAD DAY" in Atlanta, GA. How is this fair treatment? How is this ok? How are people ok with this? It's NOT ok for anyone to mistreated by law enforcement. I've said it before and I'll say it again, "DEFUND THE POLICE" was the worst possible name they could have chose for their noble and just cause; should have been REALLOCATE THE POLICE or something similar. By reallocating resources we can have the appropriately trained people show up to a specific situation. Would you use a hammer to clean fine china? No, of course not! Then why send a SWAT team when you can send mental health experts or family child services or whatever the situation requires. Throwing a grenade at every problem gets rid of one problem and winds up creating others as collateral damage. Contemporary policing tactics are like throwing grenades into urban populations.
