Shamans worldwide are purported to have the ability to contact a world of spirits and dreams in which it is said to be possible to experience universal truths and re-discover one's self. Often, hallucinogenic chemicals found in plants open the doorway to this personal journey under the experienced guidance of one who has made the journey many times before.
