Attempt No Landing (2016)

Currently the top rated planetscape in the Digital Blasphemy gallery, this render was created using Vue d'Esprit in October 2016 and was an instant hit. The foreground landscape was created using my first experiments with an actual terrain modeler (in this case, 'Geoglyph'). Most of my terrains are now modeled using a dedicated program but it was a new concept for me in '16.

The title and theme refer to the film "2010: The Year We Make Contact".
