Astronaut Returns from Mars

The Astronaut IX52 of Mars Mission [Year 2046] was retrieved in 7 months time, earlier than the expected 1 year.

He had been living a lonely life on Mars, after leaving 2nd moon, Phobos. Initially he purposely stranded himself, to work on mining precious metals on Phobos, felt it a good idea... but, it wasn't. As months went on, he drifted into a depression, with physical/mental issues monitored by 'NASA III's medical team.
A Mission was heading there early to start mining on Phobos.

He remained quiet on his return, as reality hit him; --that he'd receive punishment, akin to a court martial for his behavior, that put his Space team in danger, many months before, affecting their Mission. As he saw Earth loom bigger, he felt awful, quite disoriented...and, then, spontaneously pressed a button to open the cargo door...
