Archangel Gabriel

Gabriel is one of the archangels mentioned in the Bible. Along with Archangel Michael, he is one of the most important angels in both the Abrahamic religions and modern New Age spirituality. His name means 'the [god] Ël is my strength' or 'the strength of the [god] Ël'. He is almost always depicted in the role of his messenger, having been the bearer of the news of the magical incarnation of Jesus Christ in the womb of the Virgin Mary. His image represents purity and announces it through his white clothing, one or several lilies in his hands, and his androgynous and delicate appearance.
