this mixed media piece is a visual representation of U.S. military intervention in the Middle East and its effect on the culture and history of the region. the Arabic calligraphy on the three scimitars - "Rashidun", "Ummayyad" and "Abbassid" - represent the three last golden ages of Arabic history, the way middle eastern peoples are viewed and treated is a direct effect of this intervention.
