April Bug is inspired by a type of Pterocroce capillaris larvae. "The larvae are characterized by a wide range of ecological adaptations and dwell from arboreal to deep-sea habitats". This one in particular caught my eye with its slender elongated neck. Not much is written about its purpose, but from researching its hunting style my insect enthusiast colleague presumes its used for bashing pray against the ground as well as protection because it helps with keeping pray at a distance. They also use it for digging up sand. 2020.
