Apples

There are many mythical fruits, but with the emotional charge that the apple has, there are not so many anymore. It would seem that along with the ears of wheat and rice, with the fruit of the olive tree, and that of the vine, it is one of the most significant in many ways. It is assumed with some certainty that the tree, the apple tree, was domesticated by humans more than 15,000 years ago: near the Caucasus. And centuries later the Roman legions brought it to the West. And from those thousands of years before mentioned to the children's story of Snow White's apple, there is a very long journey full of stories, some true, the least, and others based on real events, or at least on events that history recounts as happened.
