This pdf was my submission report for "An Assemblage; for sitting" a project I completed for a university module during my second year entitled "Outside: Design for an urban environment".
Where the collection all began, and where my fascination in the capacity of photography as a medium really started to take off.
During the project I undertook a Debordian Dérive as a method for exploring the urban environment I found myself in, and as a mechanism to 'drift' to the specific section of the urban environment where the design of this project could happen. I found myself captured by urban seating, benches, and strips of land seemingly fallen out of mind through the intersections between designed spaces.
To capture this process, I would take my camera along with me and photograph anything I thought may be of interest to the furthering of the project.
This collection is a curated reselection of the hundreds of photographs I ended up taking as a part of the project, focused on benches in Brighton.
