Amazônia
About the NFT project — "Galleries Without Walls", created by Gallery of Photography Ireland and Regional Cultural Centre, is a collaborative programme that facilitates connections between different creative fields, allowing artists to experiment with innovative new formats for presenting work.
Nina Maalej (photographer) & Jeremy Fitz Howard (composer) worked together to create this NFT. Inspired by Nina's photographic series, Howard created an original composition using a mixture of sounds sourced within the rainforest by Maalej, juxtaposed with increasingly dissonant acoustic and electronic instrumentation.
The series of images was animated by Stephane Stradella (STRAD).
About the series — Nina Maalej goes to the heart of the Amazonian rainforest, Brazil, in order to create a series of pictures related to the forest fires. "Amazônia" shows us an evolution, from the seventies until 2050, trying to imagine what the Amazonian forest might look like if humans keep destroying it.
