-"Ag Himlay" is a lumad word for "Rest"-
The Lumad or Indigenous People understood that balance and rest were as vital to their existence as the vibrant ceremonies and dances that defined their culture.
During Rest, the tribes embraced the wisdom of their elders, listening to stories passed down through generations. They found solace in the rustling leaves and soothing whispers of the forest and surroundings allowing themselves to be cradled by the very earth that sustained them.
During this rest period the tribesmen rediscovered the joy of simplicity, the power of stillness, and the beauty of their interconnectedness with nature.
"It is through rest that they find their strength to continue their journey, to protect their land, and to preserve their sacred way of life."
This quest for rest serves as a reminder to us all – that in the busyness of our lives, we too can benefit from moments of stillness and reflection. Just as the indigenous people found strength in rest, so too can we find renewal in the simple act of pausing and reconnecting with the world around us.
